2007 US National Paramotor Competition

April 11 & 12: Have fun, see how you measure up |Ft. Lauderdale, FL

We are running the year's first competition on Wed and Thur morning. This is a good opportunity to see how far you've come and how you stack up against other pilots for precision control, inflight, launch and landing skill.

You don't have to be an expert to participate. Basically, any competent pilot that launches consistently will be competitive.

Register Here ($75) Until April 9

We will run the competition starting Wed morning with a 730am briefing and start the first run at 8am. Tasks are: launch, slow/fast, cloverleaf, foot drag, endurance, bomb drop, power-on spot landing and power-off spot landing. Additional tasks will be flown through near sunset on Wed and then we'll do another single run on Thur morning with a briefing at 7am.

The first wed morning session is a practice session and instruction will be given from existing competition pilots for those who would like to improve their flying.

Only competition pilots will be allowed to fly in the competition area on Wed and Thursday morning.

Requirements are pretty basic:

  1. Member in good standing of USPPA or USUA,

  2. Have a PPG2 rating or 50 logged flights or an endorsement from a USPPA/USUA PPG instructor stating that you are qualified to compete.

  3. Have paid $50 via paypal or mail by April 5, 2007.

Come join us, we're putting a lot of work into having judges present, setting up the courses and having the field available. We'll see you there!

Points will count towards USPPA national standings.

Trikes will be allowed although it is more challenging in many regards. The basic differences:

1. Spot landings use the aft right wheel's first point of contact.

2. The touch and go requires being on the ground for exactly 5 seconds.

3. Foot drag requires one wheel to be off the ground (usually the front wheel(s)).

4. Trike pilots must still kick the center stick (not just hit it with the trike).
