THE MISSION OF THE USPPA IS TO PRESERVE, PROMOTE, AND ENHANCE THE SPORT OF POWERED PARAGLIDING.

USPPA is a 501(c)3 non-profit

WHY JOIN THE USPPA?

BELOW ARE SOME OF THE KEY BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS

A magazine for paramotor pilots by paramotor pilots. 4 Issues per year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Under FAR 103, ratings are not required for paramotoring but they are very useful to assess your skills and knowledge to ensure you are the best pilot you can be.

The USPPA has an FAA tandem exemption that allows pilots with a USPPA tandem rating to operate tandem flights in U.S. airspace.

The USPPA has a partnership with the NAA and FAI to obtain the FAI sporting license that will allow USPPA pilots to compete, attempt world records, and fly at international FAI events. *Must have a USPPA PPG 2 rating or higher.

USPPA members will gain access to our library of online resources, continuing education programs, online membership directory, and more.

WE OFFER A LEGAL WAY FOR PARAMOTORS TO DO TANDEM FLIGHTS

Under FAR 103, ultralights are restricted to single occupants. The FAA has granted the USPPA an exemption to this rule to allow USPPA members to operate two-place tandem powered paragliders for training purposes.

If your goal is to eventually fly a two-place powered paraglider, you must obtain a tandem rating through the USPPA. It is not legal to fly a paramotor in the U.S. with a passenger unless you operate under the FAA exemption like the one that was granted to the USPPA.

Our ratings program offers the following ratings: PPG1, PPG2, PPG3, Instructor, Tandem Instructor, and Instructor Administrator.
