Incident Details
March 7, 2006 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
The pilot had just launched when the engine quit unexpectedly. He landed next to the runway on a group of cattle gathered at a watering hole. The weight of the large motor pushed the pilot’s face down into a large quantity of cow dung. The instructor and fellow pilots refused to help–keeping their distance due to the terrible smell. The pilot eventually freed himself. He walked to a neighbor’s farmhouse and borrowed a water hose to clean himself. Lesson learned? Don’t expect your “friends” to get you out of a difficult situation.
No animals were injured in this incident.
