Incident Details

March 6, 2006 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

Pilot had landed at this site after a 15 mile cross country along with a number of other pilots. He was launching for the return flight. Conditions were light and variable and the run was quite fast. He was was wearing boots and tripped on rock. He feels the rock would have still done its job even with different foot covering. He writes: “It may have been preventable with better watching of the ground while running, but I was at the end (just ready to lift off) of a very, very long run-out for me. The high altitude requires much more running than I am used to. I was looking up at the wing periodically to make sure I was staying centered, and I think that is when it happened.”
