Incident Details

May 29, 2006 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

After initiating his takeoff run, the pilot felt the wing off to right side. Over-correcting swung wing to left. At the next oscillation, pilot tried to lift off. As his feet left the ground, he swung to the right again, contacting the ground from approximately three feet up.The side impact broke the cage, sent prop parts exploding, and caused pilot to fall roughly forward. The forward fall made his throttle push his finger against the ground, accelerating the engine, and bruising his finger. He rolled off the throttle and quickly shut the engine off. No serious injury to pilot; cage badly damaged; prop wasted. Tough way to start a holiday weekend!
