Incident Details
July 1, 2006 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
Pilot was taking off from a field surrounded by a fence. At about 10 feet the motor “coughed” and he decided to land even though it was still producing power. On landing, the pilot flared hard to avoid hitting the fence and, in the process of pulling his hands down and back, got his left pinkie finger hit by the prop, braking it in several places. The surgeon who worked on it reported that he’d never seen that particular bone in that many pieces.
