Incident Details

September 12, 2006 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

Pilot got a brake line wrapped around the palm of the left (Not Throttle) hand during setup. Using a forward launch the wing inflated correctly but started to turn to the left as soon as the pilot began to accelerate. Pilot followed the wing around and lifted about 3 feet off the ground. He immediately came back down and fell to the left bending the frame and breaking the prop.

The pilot should have aborted as soon as he realized that the hand had taken a wrap or at least tried to unwrap it instead of choosing to sort it all out after take-off.

Another example of the inherent safety of PPG. Unless you have the equipment configured correctly you probably wont leave the ground.
