Incident Details

March 28, 2007 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

I was flying off the coast of Huntington Beach California. A helicopter flew in very close proximity to me causing a full wing collapse. I was approximately 500 feet AGL. I was violently whipped around in my harness and at one point I was upside down. the controls were jerked from my hand and ended up going into my prop ($650.00). luckily I was flying a very safe and reliable wing which allowed for a rapid re-inflation. I got control of my flight controls and was able to land with no further incident. The helicopter pilot without any doubt was irresponsible and definitely risked my life. This incident ended with nothing more than a damaged prop and a lifetime full of not so good memories. But the outcome could have definitely been worse.
