Incident Details
September 16, 2007 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
I had been having trouble starting my engine, hadn’t got it started in about 2 months. I got some advice for an adjustment to make to the engine that should make it start. I did the adjustment not believing it would work, because nothing else had. Well, it did work, and I was not braced for full throttle, and I was holding the throttle. It started right up and came at me, the prop striking my shoulder. I called an ambulance and went to the ER, but the injury was only minor, just minor lascerations and lots of bruising. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me, and I’m SOOOO lucky it didn’t hit my face or neck, and that I’m alive, it was so close. I hope just one person can read this and remember ALWAYS be super careful when starting your engine, it can ruin your life forever. (for a fraction of a second, I thought my arm had been cut off, so scary). BE CAREFUL!!
