Incident Details

July 9, 2007 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

I had many failed foward launch attemps. Very difficult to get the wing overhead — kept falling back and to the left (even in a good breeze). I fell on my cage twice on the left, causing minor bending of my dual-hoop cage. Other pilots corrected my arm position to get more “oomph” on my forward, and I finally got in the air. Upon takeoff, I immediately started a moderate left turn. Throughout my flight, I was caught in a left turn. My left brake was very tight and sensitive. No visual problems could be found on flight. On landing, a friction tangle was found in rear left lines of my wing. This kept the left side pulled down on my launch attempts and flight. Checked lines to make sure they were still OK. Lesson learned: Make sure you clear all your lines before flying! Also, keeping arms extended correctly to your sides can help on inflation, even when the wing hasn’t been properly checked!
