Incident Details
August 7, 2008 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
4th flight as a student and takeoff went smoothly at first. As instructed, I kept my hands up and off the brakes. Unfortunately, I put my arms up too far and pressed the kill switch against the risers. At about 5ft in the air the motor abruptly stopped, and then when I lowered my arms the motor abruptly returned to full throttle. Needless to say the unplanned landing was hard and the racing motor caused torque damage to the cage and frame. New students in particular should be warned.
