Returning with group from 1 1/2Hr Cross Country, pilot forced to land after fuel starvation. Altitude sufficient to find good landing area, however, near ground pilot encountered power lines running diagonaly accross field. Very difficult to see due to sunset. Effort was made at last second to turn away but glider suspension lines struck when pilot was still 15′ to 20′ off ground. Pilot fell hard but without injury to self or PPG equipment. Witnesses noticed brief electric flash.
