Incident Details

October 7, 2008 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

Having been at the flying event and seeing the situation I would like to add one comment. The incedent report was well written and accurate. There were several references to the pilot flying beyond his experience level. I was at the airport with several expert pilots and we all chose not to fly at all at this time and place because of the weather. It was a no fly window because of the weather and beyond anyone’s experience level. There was no level of experience that would have made it safe to fly. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of wanting to fly, especially beginners, ( I have been guilty of this), and throw caution to the wind ( no pun intended). It’s imperative that senior pilots start steppng up and calling off flights when the window is not good, even if it is an unpopular decision. If you miss the bus another bus will come along soon. If you miss a fly day , I guarantee another nice day will come along soon.
