Reserve bag came dislodged and hit the ground as I took off. When the bridle reached full length the reserve opened quickly and all but stopped my forward momentum pitching me upward from maybe 5′, to 10′ or so. I looked back to see my Metamorfosi reserve for the first time (very pretty) but it was headed UPward ! Rode my kit down to a surprisingly soft landing with no power assist. Now I will follow directions for proper mounting of the reserve as “MY IDEA” was no good. I had it hanging from the swing arm in a quite unacceptable manner and I knew it and still flew it
