Pilot was starting pull start engine prior to launch. Throttle was in left hand and pilot was pull starting with the right hand. Motor was difficult to start so pilot added partial throttle while pulling starter rope. Motor started and due to incorrect grip on throttle handle, the motor went to full throttle. Pilot was attempting to hit kill switch but upper right arm pushed netting and arm into prop causing deep and severe laceration to the arm between shoulder and elbow. Wound will require stitches and possibly some skin grafts but pilot retained full feeling and use of fingers
