Incident Details
September 1, 2011 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
Sunday was a perfect day for flying so I set up at a local school’s field that was good for a north wind. All was looking good and I was sort of taking off but continued to run. The next thing I knew, I was on the ground with an unbalanced prop. A guy was there with his kid and asked if I had a phone. Sure, it’s in the pocket of the paramotor…do you really need to make a call? Long story short, had 2 prop strikes on the back of my foot. Ambulance took me to a hospital where they made arrangements to go to another hospital where I had surgery that night, with them mostly cleaning out debris and developing a plan for surgery on Thursday, assuming no infection.
