Pilot decided to make a trike launch in a questionable weather front. After launch he found air to be turbulent and made a 180 degree turn back to launch site. Approaching launch site at about 40′ agl the paraglider received a full frontal collapse resulting in contact with the ground for pilot and his equipment. Emergency crew took pilot to hospital where injuries were assessed.
