Incident Details

July 7, 2015 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:

Experienced power loss at about 500′. Was flying over a small park with a large open field in front. Followed a gas pipeline easment between rows of houses focusing on making it over a privacy fence to safely land in large open field. Once I realized the fence was made, saw powerlines on other side perpendicular to me. Remembering my skydiving training of going into wires parallel, and knowing I was too low to make a hard turn. I turned parallel to lines and picked my feet up so that motor cage hit ground first. I landed in turtle under a small cedar tree. Got out of harness and realized I was completely unhurt. Wing contacted wire, causing burn damage to a few cells on the front of my wing.
