Accident occurred on student’s solo flight attempt. During inflation and takeoff, the wing began to move over and in front of the student. Student began to fall and released throttle. As student was trying to hit kill switch, the student fell onto his left side as motor was still running. As student fell, he landed on the throttle and motor increased to full power forcing student’s arm down into a very awkward position. Prop broke during crash and netting was severed in one small area.

Student thought he was fine and stayed at field to help others takeoff and video their flights. Student woke up next day with severe pain and after 10 days of little improvement, saw a doctor where he learned he had torn two rotator cuff muscles and moved a tendon into his joint of the left arm. Surgery and 6 months rehab is required.
