I only witnessed this during training. Pilot attempted to start motor while motor was resting on raised platform. Motor was not on his back; on tailgate of truck, I think. Motor went to full power and pilot ended up getting arm into prop. Rushed to emergency room with major lacerations to arm, from elbow down.
