Incident Details
February 4, 2019 Location of the incident: , Type of Incident:
Reported by another pilot.
Instructor pilot had started the motor and was warming it up while standing in front of it. He was using a “finger throttle”.
At some point he inadvertently throttled up enough that the motor lurched forward and pushed into his shoulder causing the prop strike. It was difficult to get away from the motor because he couldn’t get his hand out of the throttle since the strap is velcroed around the pilot’s wrist.
