A pilot was starting his paramotor on a stand and it went to power. The report did not indicate whether that was intentional or not, but the paramotor was not secured and came towards the pilot. He put his hand out and it went through to the prop causing enough damage to require 5 hours of surgery. The pilot has indicated that he will give up paramotoring.
