I have always been interested in aviation, however it was Macgyver that introduced me to powered paragliding. I saw an episode of Macgyver when I was a kid showing Macgyver construct a paramotor from various supplies that were in reach at the time and use the paramotor to rescue someone in trouble (it was even a tandem flight). Years later while at the Sun N Fun Fly-In in Lakeland Florida I found a display of paramotors and watched them fly in person. I was sold on the idea, but was not old enough to acquire one yet. Fast forward to 2009, I bought my first paramotor and wing, went through training, and have been enjoying PPG since. I am licensed to fly helicopters have some hours in fixed wing as well. My friends call me Richie
