Equipment
Hi, I go by Oz. I'm also an H3 pilot and several years ago, I moved down to Panama City Beach, FL and missed flying, but there were no mountains, so I found John Black. He trained me and then I underwent my eighth knee surgery, so John made me start over and kite. I've had lots and lots of kiting hours and have no problem in up to 14 mph winds. I love and enjoy kiting. I visited Torrey Pines in San Diego a couple years ago and told them I was a PPG pilot. They said that they are a P3 site and would have to test me out. Within 20 minutes of assessing my ground handling skill, they agreed to loan me equipment and let me launch. I ridge soared for an hour and then landed with no problem. I also just attended Beach Blast which is directed by my instructor John Black. I launched and landed with no problem on all flyable days. I also chatted with Jeff Goins and got to know him. I'm visiting Turkey in 4 weeks and hope to fly there. I will need my rating card. I hope to have it back in time. John Black said that he has already sent my paperwork in.
