EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

Friday, 04 August 2023 by Eric Lear

or 51 weeks a year, EAA is an international community of more than 240,000 members that nurtures the spirit of flight through a worldwide network of chapters, outreach programs, and other events.

But for one week each summer, EAA members and aviation enthusiasts totaling more than 500,000 from 80 countries attend EAA AirVenture at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where they rekindle friendships and celebrate the past, present, and future in the world of flight.

The World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration® has it all when it comes to aircraft. Warbirds. Vintage. Homebuilts. Ultralights. Some you would normally find in a hangar at your local airport, others so unique they are the only one of their kind.

You name it, there’s likely an example of it at Oshkosh.

For many, arriving at Oshkosh is a rite of passage that can only be satisfied by being one of the more than 10,000 aircraft flying in, landing at what becomes the busiest airport in the world.

Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or an aviation novice, AirVenture has something for you. No matter what your age, you’ll be entertained, informed, and thrilled by the countless activities available that reflect “The Spirit of Aviation” all around.

Daily air shows. Aerobatics and pyrotechnics. Feature films at the Fly-In Theater. Forums, workshops, and demonstrations. KidVenture. Special programming at Theater in the Woods. All of this, plus much, much more is included with your daily admission.

Add in the crowd-thrilling, show-stopping Night Air Show on Wednesday and Saturday night, and you have affordable fun for the entire family every day from sunup to well past sundown.

There is uniqueness to each AirVenture that keeps lifelong attendees coming back for more. You need to experience it to understand.

Experience Oshkosh with us. It doesn’t matter what you see; you just have to see it for yourself.

SUN’nFUN

Friday, 04 August 2023 by Eric Lear

From its humble beginnings in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation enthusiasts, the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo has grown into one of the largest and most successful aviation events on earth. We are Florida’s largest annual convention of any kind, and each year over 200,000 visitors flock to what has become known as “Aviation’s Season Opener” or “Spring Break for Pilots.”

Pilots flying into the Expo are fascinated by the vision of hundreds of aircraft showcased in all shapes and sizes. Aircraft areas include Vintage, Homebuilt, Aerobatic, Warbird, Jet, and Light Sport. To serve all those flying in, a major trade show is part of SUN ‘n FUN. Over 500 exhibitors have an incredible lineup of products and services, hands-on workshops teach hundreds of building and maintenance skills, and dozens of forums educate pilots and maintainers about safety, new products, and an infinite number of other timely topics. Not just for pilots, SUN ‘n FUN has STEM and Career Fair activities, plus a Family Fun Zone and, of course, our world-famous daily and night airshows that feature breathtaking displays from dozens of military and civilian performers.

Arizona Flying Circus

Friday, 04 August 2023 by Eric Lear

Each year in Feberuary people make the trip to a remote airport in the Sonoran Desert. Part fly-in, part Burning Man, part Wild West, the Arizona Flying Circus has evolved into a rather unusual event like no other.

Certainly, a large variety of pilots make it out every year with their flying contraptions, but you will also find wild costumes, explosions, enormous fires, great food, fireworks, flamethrowers, artwork, firearms (yes, there is a shooting range on site), live music, and the infamous bowling ball cannon.

The AFC is a purely volunteer effort guided by our love and passion of flight and to celebrate our remaining freedoms, meet and reconnect with fellow birds of a feather, and gather at this breathtaking place. Come join us for warm winter flying in sunny Arizona!
